Lead generation by service

Pay per appointment leads for bathroom and kitchen remodelers

This page is for kitchen and bath remodelers who are tired of paying for clicks, shared leads and monthly retainers that may or may not turn into estimates. With BuildSignals you pay per appointment: a set price for each qualified, budget-confirmed in-home estimate we book on your calendar. Try us free for 2 weeks. Then pay per appointment or per close.

What you are actually buying

Most lead sources sell you a name and a phone number. What happens next is your problem. Some never pick up, some are renters, some wanted a price for a job they will never do. A pay per appointment program sells you the step after that: a homeowner who has already talked to a person, said yes to the project, confirmed a budget and picked a time for you to come out.

That difference matters most for small and mid-size remodelers. If you or one sales rep run every estimate, the hours you lose chasing dead leads are hours you are not in a home closing a job. Paying per appointment moves the chasing and the qualifying to someone else and lets you spend your time where the money is.

What counts as a qualified appointment

This is the part to get in writing before you sign with anyone. A vague definition is how contractors end up paying for appointments that were never real. At BuildSignals a billable appointment is:

Our guide on what pay per appointment lead generation is goes deeper on these points and the red flags to watch for in other programs.

How BuildSignals books your appointments

  1. Ads in your service area. We write and run Facebook and Instagram ads aimed at homeowners where you work. The ads run from your own Meta ad account, which you own, and you pay Meta for ad spend directly.
  2. A call within minutes. Every new lead gets a call within minutes of filling out the form. Homeowners who wait an hour have often moved on. See why speed to lead matters for remodelers.
  3. Qualification on the phone. We check homeowner status, the project and the budget before anything goes on your calendar.
  4. Booked on your calendar. The in-home estimate lands on your calendar with the homeowner's details and project notes.
  5. Confirmed before you go. We confirm the appointment ahead of the visit to cut down on no-shows. More on that in how to reduce no-shows for in-home estimates.
  6. Everything on a live dashboard. You see every lead, every appointment and every closed job in one place, so you always know what you are paying for.

Every lead is exclusive to you. We never share or resell it to another contractor. If you want to know why that matters for close rates, read exclusive vs. shared remodeling leads. The full process is on how it works.

How billing works

How to tell if a per-appointment price makes sense for you

You do not need anyone's pitch to answer this. You need three numbers from your own business:

  1. Your average gross profit on a job of the type you want more of (tub-to-shower, full bath, kitchen).
  2. Your close rate on in-home estimates that were actually qualified. Be honest; count the last 20 or so.
  3. How much you are willing to spend to win one job.

Multiply your average gross profit per job by your close rate. That is roughly what one qualified appointment is worth to you. Then decide what share of that you are willing to spend on marketing. If you close one in three, each appointment is worth about a third of your profit on a job. If the per-appointment price plus your share of ad spend sits well under that, the program pays for itself. If your close rate swings a lot, pay per close may fit you better.

One outside note on timing: Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies projects that homeowner spending on improvements will reach about $518 billion by the end of 2026, with growth easing late in the year (LIRA, revised April 2026). A slower market is when wasted estimates hurt the most, and when paying only for qualified ones helps the most.

Who pay per appointment fits best

It is a weaker fit if you are not able to run estimates within a few days of booking, or if you do not want to take in-home appointments at all.

Common questions

How much do pay per appointment remodeling leads cost?

It depends on your market and the type of remodel. BuildSignals sets a price per qualified, budget-confirmed appointment for your market on a 20-minute call, after a free 2-week trial. Ad spend is paid by you directly to Meta from your own ad account.

What is the difference between a lead and an appointment?

A lead is a name and phone number from someone who filled out a form. An appointment is a homeowner who has been called, qualified on the project and budget, and booked for an in-home estimate on your calendar.

Are pay per appointment leads exclusive?

With BuildSignals, yes. Every lead and appointment comes from ads run for your company in your service area and is never shared or resold to another contractor.

Is there a contract for pay per appointment?

No long-term contract. You start with a free 2-week trial, then pay per appointment, charged once a week for that week's appointments, or pay per close. You can stop when it stops working for you.

Can I pay per close instead of per appointment?

Yes. With pay per close you pay an agreed percentage of the jobs you close from appointments BuildSignals booked, so you pay only when work is sold.
